Using UPCS codes

How to Check You Chose the Right Spot

Before you share a UPCS code, confirm it points to the entrance you meant. A short checklist using the lookup page and the map.

A code leads to exactly the spot you picked, so choosing it well pays off. A thirty-second check before you share it can save a missed delivery or a wasted trip.

    Checklist

    1. Look up your own code. Paste it into the search box on upcs.io or open upcs.io/PK-1A2B-3C4D with your code.
    2. Check the country. The lookup page shows it. It should match the country you are in.
    3. Open in Map. Use the Open in Map action and look at the marker. See opening a code in the map.
    4. Zoom in on the UPCS map. The 3 m by 3 m grid appears from zoom level 18, so you can see which cell you are choosing.
    5. Compare with the entrance. Is the cell where a visitor should arrive, or in the middle of the property, or on the wrong side?
    6. Choose again if needed. If it is off, go back to the map and select a better point. Zoom in to the entrance has guidance.

    Common slips

    • Choosing the building centre instead of the door.
    • Choosing a point while zoomed far out, so the marker covers a wide area.
    • Picking the wrong side of a street or a neighbouring plot.

    After the check

When you are happy, copy the share link or give the code to a courier.

    If you received the code

The same steps apply, and verifying a code someone sent you covers what to do if it does not match what you were told.

    Frequently asked questions

How precise is a UPCS code?

A code corresponds to a 3 m by 3 m grid cell, so a small shift in where you choose can lead to a different code.
