Using UPCS codes

Zoom In to Mark the Exact Entrance

Zoom in on the UPCS map before choosing a spot so your code marks the door, gate or loading bay instead of a point nearby.

The code you get depends on exactly where you choose on the map. Zooming in first lets you place it at the entrance rather than somewhere nearby.

    Why zoom matters

Each code covers a 3 m by 3 m grid cell. When the map is zoomed out, one tap or click can cover a much larger area than that, so you may end up a few cells away from the door. Zoomed in, you can see the building outline, paths and the gate, and place your choice with confidence.

    Steps

    1. Open the map on upcs.io.
    2. Move the map to your address.
    3. Zoom in step by step. The 3 m by 3 m grid appears when you are close enough.
    4. Identify the entrance you want a visitor or courier to use.
    5. Choose the cell at that entrance.
    6. Read the code that is shown and check it using the lookup page.

    Which entrance?

Ask what the person arriving needs to reach:

    • A house. Usually the front door or the gate at the road.
    • A shop. The customer door, not the staff entrance.
    • A warehouse. The loading bay or reception that handles deliveries.
    • A compound. The main gate; see codes for gates.

    Double-check

Confirm the result with checking you chose the right spot. If the position is not what you meant, select again. A different cell gives a different code.
