    Fix UPCS Error 422 unsupported_location

The 422 unsupported_location error means the chosen point is outside the 25 countries UPCS supports. Check the country and the coordinates.

The unsupported_location error (HTTP 422) means the point you selected, or the coordinates you sent, are not inside one of the countries UPCS currently supports. No code can be generated for that point.

    Symptom

Clicking the map or calling /v1/embed/resolve or /v1/upcs/generate returns success: false with the code unsupported_location.

    Likely causes

    • The point is in a country outside the 25 supported ones.
    • The point is in open water, or just outside a border.
    • The latitude and longitude values were swapped, so the point lands somewhere unexpected.
    • The coordinates came from a faulty geocoder or a default value such as 0, 0.

    Fix it step by step

    1. Check the country of the point. Supported countries are Pakistan, United States, India, China, Brazil, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Argentina, South Africa, Nigeria, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Thailand and Vietnam.
    2. Confirm latitude comes first and is between -90 and 90, and longitude is between -180 and 180. Swap them if needed.
    3. Make sure the values are real numbers, not empty strings or defaults.
    4. Move the point onto land inside a supported country and try again.
    5. In your own integration, handle this error in onError or your response handling and show a clear message instead of a blank result.

    Confirm it is fixed

The request returns a code in the CC-XXXX-XXXX format. If the problem is a format error rather than a location one, read validation errors.

    When to contact support

If the point is clearly inside a supported country and the error persists, contact support with the exact latitude and longitude.
