Signing out ends your session in the browser. It is a good habit on any computer or phone that other people use.
Steps
- Open upcs.io while you are signed in.
- Open the account menu in the site header, the button that shows your number.
- Choose Logout.
- Confirm that the site shows you as signed out, for example by My Account appearing in the header again.
When you should sign out
- On a shared or public computer, such as a library or internet cafe.
- On a borrowed phone.
- When someone else may use your browser after you.
What happens after
Your account items, such as the dashboard and My postcodes, are no longer shown until you sign in again. You can still:
- Look up a code with the search box.
- Use the direct link form.
- Open the map and generate a code.
Signing back in
Use your WhatsApp number and a new one-time code. See signing in with a WhatsApp number. If the code does not arrive, read not receiving your one-time code.
Extra safety
Close the browser tab after signing out on a shared device. For more guidance, read account and privacy basics.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still look up codes after signing out?
Yes. Looking up a code with the search box or the direct link works without signing in.
