Partner Account vs Personal Account
A personal UPCS account is for individuals using codes. A partner account is for businesses that manage API keys and allowed origins.

UPCS offers two kinds of use. Which one fits depends on whether you are an individual or a business integrating UPCS into a shop or website.
Personal account
A personal account is for individuals.
- You sign in with a WhatsApp number and a one-time code. See signing in with WhatsApp.
- You get an account dashboard and My postcodes. See your dashboard.
- You create codes on the map, look up codes and share them, as described in generating your first code.
Partner account
A partner account is for businesses. Businesses create it at the partner page.
- You manage API keys and allowed origins in the partner panel.
- Keys start with
upcs_, and the same key works in the store plugins and in custom code. - Each key has an hourly request limit, which is 1,000 requests per hour by default.
- Keys should be kept on the server.
Which should you choose?
| If you want to... | Use |
|---|---|
| Give a courier the exact spot of your home | Personal account, or no account at all |
| Look up a code someone sent you | No account needed |
| Show a UPCS map at your store checkout | Partner account |
| Call the UPCS API from your server | Partner account |
Keeping them separate
Personal use and business integration are different tasks. A partner account does not change how codes work for ordinary users, and a personal account does not give access to API keys.
For personal use, read account and privacy basics. For more about codes themselves, see what is UPCS.
