UPCS has a Featured locations page that lists selected places with their codes. It is a good place to see what real codes look like before you create one of your own.
What you can see there
- Examples of codes in the
CC-XXXX-XXXXpattern, such asPK-1A2B-3C4D. - The label and address of each place, where one has been added.
- A View on Map button that opens the place on a map.
How to use it for learning
- Open the Featured locations page at
upcs.io/featured-locations. - Pick a location that interests you.
- Look at its code and address.
- Choose View on Map to see where it sits relative to the surrounding roads and buildings.
- Paste one of the codes into the search box at the top of the site to see the lookup page for it. Finding a location from a code describes that page.
This builds a feel for what a precisely placed code looks like before you create your own with generating your first code.
What it is not
The page is a selection of places for illustration and discovery. It is not a directory of every code, and it is not a replacement for looking up a code that someone gave you.
Next steps
- Read understanding the code format to learn what each part means.
- Use open a code in the map to explore a code's location in more detail.
