How to Copy the Coordinates of a UPCS Code

Use the Copy coordinates action on the UPCS lookup page to get the latitude and longitude of a code for use in other tools.

Every UPCS code corresponds to coordinates, and the lookup page lets you copy them. This is useful when you want to enter a location into another tool.

    Steps

    1. Look up the code by pasting it into the search box on upcs.io, or open upcs.io/PK-1A2B-3C4D with your own code.
    2. On the lookup page, find the coordinates and the latitude and longitude values.
    3. Use the Copy coordinates action.
    4. Paste the result where you need it, such as a note, a message or another tool.

If you have not yet found the page, finding a location from a code describes it.

    What you get

The lookup page shows the country and the coordinates, with latitude and longitude. Pasting these into another tool lets you refer to the same place without relying on the UPCS website.

When to use coordinates instead of a code

    • The person you are working with has a tool that accepts only coordinates.
    • You want to keep a note of the precise location alongside a code.

When the other person can use UPCS, the code or link is simpler to send. How to share a UPCS code lists the options.

    Tips

    • Copy both values together so latitude and longitude do not get separated.
    • After pasting, compare the result on a map with the UPCS lookup page to make sure it is the same place.

    Frequently asked questions

Are the coordinates the centre of the cell?

The lookup page shows the coordinates for the code. The code itself covers a 3 m by 3 m grid cell.
