UPCS WordPress Plugin Settings and Test Connection

After you install the plugin, the only thing it needs to work is your API key. The settings page also has a button to check that the key is accepted.

Enter the API key

1. In the WordPress admin, open Settings, then UPCS Map.
2. Paste your key into the Shared API Key field. UPCS keys start with upcs_. The API Base URL (https://api.upcs.io/api) and UPCS Public URL (https://upcs.io) are pre-filled and should be left as they are. Default Country takes a two-letter code such as PK.
3. Save the settings.

If you do not have a key yet, generate one in the partner panel.

Test the connection

1. On the same page, choose Test API Connection.
2. Wait for the result message.
3. If the test succeeds, you see "Connection OK": the plugin can talk to UPCS and the map is ready to use.

If the test fails

Work through these checks:

1. Key copied correctly. A missing character or an added space will be rejected. Paste it again. Also check the API Base URL ends in /api and that your server can make outbound HTTPS requests.
2. Key active. A disabled, expired or deleted key returns a 401 "Invalid or inactive API key". See disable or delete a key.
3. Partner account. A key must belong to a partner account; otherwise the error is partner_required.
4. Request limit. Each key allows 1,000 requests per hour by default. Waiting for the hour to pass clears a rate_limited error. See hourly limit explained.
5. IP restriction. If your key is restricted to specific IP addresses, a request from another IP is refused.
