Install the UPCS OpenCart Extension

The UPCS extension for OpenCart lets customers pick their exact location on a map during checkout. This page covers requirements and installation. After installing, you will enable the module and assign it to the checkout layout.

Requirements

• OpenCart 4.x.
• A UPCS API key from a partner account.

The current extension version is 1.1.0.

Install the extension

1. Download the extension package from the plugins page.
2. In the OpenCart admin, go to Extensions, then Installer.
3. Upload upcsmap.ocmod.zip, then choose the green install button next to UPCS Map in the Installer list.
4. Go to Extensions, set the type to Modules, install UPCS Map with the green plus button, then choose Edit.

Next steps

After installation:

1. In the module settings, set Status to Enabled and enter your API key.
2. Save the settings.
3. Add it to the Checkout layout under Design, then Layouts.

Troubleshooting

• Confirm you are on OpenCart 4.x; the extension is not built for earlier major versions.
• Upload the package as downloaded, without unpacking it.
• If the install fails, enable the extension installer and make sure the storage folder is writable.

Before you install

Take a backup of your store files and database first, as you would before adding any extension. Test the installation on a staging copy if you have one, and only then repeat it on the live store. This keeps checkout available to customers if something unexpected happens during the upload.
