Pet Services: Grooming, Walking and Vet Visits
Dog walkers, mobile groomers and visiting vets need the right door and the right gate. Here is how a UPCS code leads them to the exact spot.

Pet care is a service done at doorsteps, in parks and on farms. A walker collects a dog from a house with two gates. A mobile groomer parks a van outside an apartment block. A visiting vet looks for a barn behind a field. In each case the problem is not the town or the street, it is the last fifty metres.
A UPCS code covers that last stretch. It is the exact location of the spot picked on the map, a 3 m x 3 m square, and it takes anyone who opens it to that spot. It works alongside the address the owner already gives.
Everyday scenarios
- Dog walking: the owner picks the door or gate for pickup, and the walker receives one code for every visit.
- Mobile grooming: the groomer needs a parking spot near the door, so a second code can mark where the van should stop.
- Vets on call: the owner or farmer picks the exact gate or the animal pen, saving time in urgent cases.
- Boarding and day care: a pickup point and a drop-off point can each have their own code.
- Pet transport: handover points at a car park or a gate can be set without confusion.
Setting up for owners
- Open upcs.io and zoom in on your home.
- Pick the gate or door you want the provider to use.
- Send the code or link when you book. Mention special instructions as a normal text note.
Providers should store the code against the pet's record. A returning client only needs to confirm the code is still correct.
For clinics and groomers with a booking site
A booking page can embed the map using the embeddable map, and the REST API can store the location returned for each appointment. If you also run a pet shop on WordPress/WooCommerce, PrestaShop or OpenCart, the plugins let the buyer drop a pin at checkout for deliveries.

Practical tips
- Pick a spot that is easy for people and animals to reach; avoid busy road edges.
- Use a separate code for the meeting point at a park.
- Keep codes private to the people you trust with access to your home.
- Update the code if you move; a new place gives a new code.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be signed in? Only to save locations in your account. Opening or sharing a code needs no sign-in.
Does the code replace the instructions about gates and dogs? No. Safety notes still go in your normal message; the code simply gets the visitor to the right place.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use a code for a park gate where I meet the walker?
Yes. Pick the gate on the map and share the code; it leads to that exact spot every time.
Can a mobile vet use it for farm animals?
Yes. Pick the farm gate or the barn entrance, and the code leads the vet to that exact square.
