Troubleshooting
WordPress UPCS Test API Connection Fails
If Test API Connection fails in the UPCS WordPress plugin, check the API key, key status, allowed origin and your server's outgoing connection.

The Test API Connection button in the UPCS plugin settings checks that your site can reach UPCS with the key you entered. If it fails, work through the checks below.
Symptom
On Settings, then UPCS Map, the test returns an error instead of a success message, and the map may not work.
Likely causes
- The API key is mistyped, has extra spaces or is not a partner key.
- The key is disabled in the partner panel.
- The API Base URL was changed and no longer ends in
/api, or the key has an IP restriction your server does not match. - Your host blocks outgoing HTTPS requests.
- Your WordPress or PHP version is below the plugin's requirements.
Fix it step by step
- Re-copy the key from the partner panel, paste it without spaces and save the settings before testing.
- Check that the key is active. See invalid or inactive key.
- Check that API Base URL is
https://api.upcs.io/apiand that there is no IP restriction on the key; see IP address not allowed. If the test passes but the map fails, check that the site address is in Allowed origins; see origin_not_allowed. - Confirm your site uses https.
- Ask your host whether outgoing HTTPS requests to api.upcs.io are allowed by the firewall.
- Confirm WordPress 5.8 or later and PHP 8.0 or later, then update if necessary.
- Deactivate other plugins briefly (security or caching plugins in particular) and test again.
Confirm it is fixed
Test API Connection reports success. Then check the checkout; if the map is still missing there, see WooCommerce checkout map not showing.
When to contact support
If the connection test still fails, contact support with the plugin version (v1.3.0 is the current one), your WordPress and PHP versions, and the exact message shown.
