Configure the UPCS PrestaShop module: enter your API key, choose a display position for the map and decide whether to link locations to orders.
Updated 14 October 2026 · 2 min read
Once the module is installed, its configuration page controls how and where the map appears.
The settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Status | Turns the map on or off without uninstalling. |
| API URL | Pre-filled with https://api.upcs.io/api; keep the default. |
| API Key | Authenticates the module with UPCS. Keys start with upcs_. It is used on the server only and is never sent to the browser. |
| Default Country | Two-letter code the map opens on, for example PK. |
| Link location to order | Attaches the chosen location to the placed order. |
| Display position | Chooses where the map appears in checkout. |
| Load map on all pages | Only needed if you use the widget outside checkout. |
Configure the module
- In the back office, open Modules, then Module Manager, and choose Configure on UPCS Map.
- Paste your API key.
- Choose a Display position from the list.
- Turn on Link location to order if you want the selected location to be saved with each order.
- Set Status to enabled and save, then open your store's checkout in a separate window to check the result.
Choosing a display position
The available positions are the address step, above or below the carriers, the top of the payment step, or manual. The default is below the carriers in the shipping step. If none of the listed positions suit your theme, choose Manual only and place the map yourself with the widget, described in manual widget and saved locations.
After each change, test on desktop and mobile, since themes can lay out hooks differently.
Link location to order
When this option is on, the location chosen by the customer is saved with their order, and the order shows a "UPCS Delivery Location" card in the back office. The customer also needs to tick the link option at checkout. Leave the setting off if you only want to show the map without storing anything against orders.
If the map does not appear
- Check that Status is enabled and that the API key is correct and active; see error codes explained.
- After upgrading the module, use Reset so that new hooks register.
- Clear the PrestaShop cache.
- Try a different display position.
