The partner panel is the control centre for everything a business does with UPCS. It does two main jobs: it holds your API keys, and it holds the list of websites (allowed origins) that may display the UPCS map using those keys.
What you manage there
- API keys. Each key starts with
upcs_and authenticates requests from your plugin or server. You can create several keys (the panel shows how many you have used out of your allowance), show and copy them, switch them off, or delete them. Each key also shows its usage. See how to generate an API key. - Allowed origins. The exact https addresses of the sites where the embedded map may run. See managing allowed origins.
What the panel is not
The panel is not a place to change how codes are generated. A UPCS code always comes from the exact location, in a 3 m x 3 m cell, in the same way for every user. The panel only controls who may ask for codes on your behalf and from where.
Common tasks
- Connect a store plugin. Create a key (or use the first one created for you) and paste it into the plugin settings. The WordPress plugin also has a Test API Connection button. Start with the WordPress plugin, PrestaShop module or OpenCart extension.
- Prepare a custom integration. Create a key, register your origin, then create a map session from your server.
- Retire access. Disable or delete a key when a site is closed or a key is exposed.
How limits show up
Every key has an hourly request limit, 1,000 per hour by default. If a key goes over, requests return a rate_limited error until the hour passes. The hourly limit explained page covers this in more detail.
Keep it tidy
Use one key per site where you can, and give each a clear name. That way, if something goes wrong, you switch off one key without touching the rest. See naming and separating keys.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see my API key again after creating it?
Yes. Keys are listed in the partner panel, where you can show and copy them. Keep them private, and if one may have leaked, disable it and generate a new key.
