How to Find a Pakistan Postal Code
Ways to find the correct postal code for an address in Pakistan, how to double-check it, and what to do when the area has more than one code.

To find a Pakistan postal code, start with the national postal operator, Pakistan Post, which is responsible for the official codes. The code you need depends on the city and the delivery area, so you should have the full address in hand before you search.
Options for finding the code
- The postal operator's published code listings or its offices. This is the authoritative source. Look up the city and area or the post office name.
- A previous parcel or letter. If you or the recipient have received mail before, the code printed on it is usually correct.
- The recipient. Asking the person who lives or works at the address is the quickest method. Many people know their code from bills or official forms.
- The post office itself. A local post office or delivery office can tell you which code covers a street or neighbourhood.
How to verify
Check that the code has exactly five digits and that it matches the city you are writing. Then compare the area name with the one on your source. Large cities contain many delivery areas, so two addresses in the same city can legitimately have different codes. If your source gives a code for the city centre only, treat it as a general value and confirm for suburbs and newer housing schemes.
If you are unsure
Newer housing societies and expanding suburbs are sometimes not obviously listed under their own name. In that case:
- Use the code of the nearest established area and write the society name clearly.
- Include the sector or block, a landmark and a working phone number.
- Ask the carrier whether they need the field filled in at all; many private couriers route by area name and phone number.
Do not invent a code or guess a digit. A wrong code is more harmful than an accurate address with the field left blank, because it can send a parcel to another delivery office.
Add an exact location
A postal code can only describe an area. If the address is hard to describe in words, add a UPCS code as an extra line. Open the UPCS map, choose the entrance, and copy the generated PK-XXXX-XXXX code. It is not an official postal code and does not replace one, but it lets the courier see the exact spot.
