Home Tutoring and Coaching Visits
Tutors and coaches travel between students every day. See how a UPCS code gives them the exact door or venue and keeps the schedule on time.

A tutor with five students a day lives by the clock. The last session ran over, the bus was late and the next house is on a lane the tutor has never visited. Parents give directions in good faith, but "second building after the shop, green gate" costs minutes that a short code would save.
A UPCS code is the exact location of the place picked on the map, a 3 m x 3 m square. It takes the tutor to the exact spot that was picked, whether that is a front door, a block entrance or a hall gate. It adds to the address, it does not replace it.
Who this suits
- Private tutors visiting homes for school subjects.
- Music, language and art teachers who go to the student.
- Sports and fitness coaches who meet clients in a park or on a pitch.
- Tutoring centres that send staff to students who cannot travel.
How to use it
At booking, the parent or student opens upcs.io, zooms in, picks the entrance, and sends the code. The tutor saves it next to the student's name. From then on, every session starts with a tap on the link and Get Directions.
For group coaching, choose a meeting point that is easy to describe, such as the gate nearest the car park. Everyone in the group receives the same code, so nobody waits at the wrong side of the field.
Scheduling with several students
A short table in your notes makes planning easy:
| Time | Student | Code |
|---|---|---|
| 16:00 | Student A | saved code |
| 17:30 | Student B | saved code |
You can then open each link in turn and plan your order of visits. Keeping codes in one place also makes a replacement tutor effective immediately.
If you run an online booking page, the embeddable map lets students pick the place as part of signup. Tutors serving a campus may read education campuses; coaches may like sports clubs and facilities.
Practical tips
- Treat codes as private contact data; share them only within your tutoring arrangement.
- Ask families to pick the entrance they want you to use.
- For safety, share the code of your next session with someone you trust.
- Store it in the calendar entry for each lesson.
Frequently asked questions
Do students need an account? No. Anyone can open or share a code without signing in; an account is only for saving locations in My postcodes.
Is it useful if I already have maps on my phone? Yes. It is a short, exact reference that does not depend on how a house is described.
Frequently asked questions
Can a parent create the code for the tutor?
Yes. They open the map at upcs.io, pick the entrance and send the code or link in a message.
Does it work for a coaching session in a park or hall?
Yes. Pick the exact meeting point, such as a gate or a pavilion, and the code leads there.
